  • How can I check my balance?
    At present, members can call our office to verify their account status and balances subject to answering the necessary security questions. Postal is currently working on introducing online banking.
  • Does Postal offer payroll deduction?
    Postal offers payroll deduction for members’ loan repayment and savings needs.
  • Is there a minimum balance that must always be in my account? If so, what is it?"
    The member must maintain Permanent Shares which is not withdrawable and a minimum savings of $200.
  • How do I become a member of Postal?
    Persons applying for membership are required to: Complete a Membership Application Form Pay the minimum amount required of $2,000 (Permanent Shares) and $200 (Voluntary Shares) Provide a National Identification Provide a Tax Registration Number (TRN) Provide a Proof of Address
  • How do I qualify to be a Postal member?

  • Why should I become a member of Postal?
    Postal Credit Union is committed to being the best provider of financial services to its members; a safe institution to save, easily accessible loans with low-interest rates and flexible repayment options, with knowledgeable and friendly staff to serve the members.
  • How do I know if I qualify for Postal insurance?
    Once you are a member, your savings, up to $400,000, and loans, up to $600,000, are covered by insurance, the cost borne by the credit union. Your membership also qualifies you to apply for FIP and Critical Rider Insurance.
  • What do I need to get insurance from Postal?
    Basic requirements such as National Identification and Proof of Address.

    You must become a member of the credit union, membership gives you access to all our products and services.

  • How can I repay my loan? (direct transfer, cheque, physical)?"
    Loan repayment is facilitated by salary deduction, standing order payments through banks, over-the-counter payment, deposit to our saving account no. 064811665 at NCB, Duke Street, Point of Sale machine and Bill Express.

  • What do I need to apply for a loan from Postal?
    Documentation for loans vary but generally, all loans require presentation of last two payslips of the applicant.

  • What are Postal's COVID protocols?
    Compulsory wearing of a mask at all times, sanitization and temperature checks of all those entering the credit union’s office, social distancing measures and a limited number of persons in the office at any one time.
  • How can I get access to money from Postal?
    Requests may be made via telephone call, e-mail, WhatsApp/message or visiting the office.
  • Does Postal accept cheques?
    Yes, but as with all financial institutions, cheques must be lodged and the funds not accessible until 7 working days for local cheques and 2 months for international cheques.

  • How do I make an appointment?
    No appointment required! Call or visit our office, we are always ready to serve.
  • How is Postal different from a bank?
    Banks are for-profit, meaning they are either privately owned or publicly traded, while Postal Credit Union’s focus is that of the financial needs of its members and to provide the products and services that meet those needs, not about profit but that of service.
  • Who is in charge of Postal? (Board and Roles)
    At Annual General Meetings, members elect volunteers from among the membership to serve on the Board of Directors, Credit and Supervisory Committees. The Board develops policies and management practices to operate the credit union and hires a manager to be responsible for the credit union’s operation on a daily basis and also hires staff.
